ITF (Industry Task Force) ASSOCIATION
Effecting positive change in Workers’ Compensation through the views of Alberta employers
"The Industry Task Force on Alberta Workers’ Compensation” was established in 1983 to represent the concerns and positions of Alberta’s employers on workers’ compensation. A formal association was formed in November 1990, and the ITF Association was incorporated under the Societies Act in 1999.
Although priorities, trends and emergent issues have varied over the years, the ITF Association has remained an actively engaged, knowledgeable and participating stakeholder in all matters related to Workers' Compensation in Alberta. Over the years resources have been devoted to:
- advocating for the introduction of services to support employers in the Appeal process,
- consultation and collaboration on proposed changes to policy and regulations,
- development of a formula for establishing the employer experience rating threshold, and
- raising various issues impacting quality of service.
The vision of the Association is “To effect positive change in programs, practices, policy and legislation by representing the views of Alberta employers who are members of the ITF Association on matters related to Workers’ Compensation in Alberta”. We strive to accomplish this by maintaining real, viable and respectful relationships with the WCB, Appeals Commission and the Ministry of Labour.
Membership in the ITF Association has steadily grown over the years and members of the ITF Association include a cross section of all major industry sectors operating in the Province of Alberta. pdf Listing of Member Organizations (173 KB)
